How to Get Involved with LA28: Tickets, Volunteering, Country Houses, Community Opportunities, Business Engagement, and Athlete Hosting
Updated: Jun 16

The LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games are coming to Southern California, but many of the opportunities to participate begin years before the Opening Ceremony.
As of June 2026, there are 762 days until the LA28 Olympic Games. Athletes are already training in the region, cities are developing plans, international visitors are making travel decisions, and community organizations are creating programs and partnerships.
Whether you are interested in attending events, volunteering, supporting your community, hosting athletes, or exploring business opportunities, there are many ways to participate in LA28.

The LA28 Olympic Games will feature 51 sports, including five new sports added to the Olympic program.
There will be 353 medal events and more than 11,000 athletes competing from around the world.

For the first time in Olympic history, there will be more women competing than men.
Southern California and Orange County will host multiple Olympic events, including surfing at Lower Trestles near San Clemente and indoor volleyball at Honda Center in Anaheim.

Understanding the Olympic Ecosystem
Many people think the Olympics are simply LA28.
In reality, the Olympic and Paralympic movement is made up of international federations, national governing bodies, sponsors, community organizations, volunteers, businesses, and local leaders.
This is important because it means there are many pathways to participate. You do not need to be an athlete or work directly for LA28 to be involved.

Celebrate 28 and Olympic Legacy Programs
LA28 recently launched Celebrate 28, an initiative focused on expanding access to youth sports, supporting economic opportunity, and creating healthier communities throughout Southern California.
Community organizations, nonprofits, schools, clubs, and local leaders are encouraged to create programs and activities that extend the impact of the Games beyond competition venues.

What Are Olympic Country Houses?
One of the lesser-known aspects of the Olympic movement is the Country House program.
Country Houses are hospitality and cultural spaces established by participating countries during the Games. They serve as gathering places for athletes, sponsors, media, business leaders, visitors, and local communities.
Country Houses often host cultural celebrations, networking events, viewing parties, food experiences, and tourism activities.

Countries including Greece, Denmark, Ireland, and Germany have announced plans for activations in Southern California. Denmark is expected to bring tall ships to the Long Beach waterfront, while Germany is planning activities in Pacific Palisades.
These programs create opportunities for volunteers, hospitality professionals, nonprofits, tourism organizations, and community groups.

LA28 Tickets and Hospitality Experiences
One of the most common questions people ask is how to buy LA28 tickets.
The first ticket release has already occurred, and additional ticket opportunities are expected soon.
In addition to individual tickets, LA28 will offer hospitality programs, premium experiences, and group opportunities.
Families, yacht clubs, nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations may benefit from group ticket packages and hospitality experiences designed to bring people together around the Games.

LA28 Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities exist both before and during the Games. Community volunteer programs are already underway throughout the Los Angeles region.
